Unit 2

Master Artist: Charles Bartlett

Current Artist: @sofia_watercolor

For this unit, I went with the popular story book scene, however, I actually ended up basing my painting on a popular game instead (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild). I used watercolor as well as a white pen and some small fine-lining pens as well for extra small details and lines. I actually really love how this turned out, and I really love how the outlines on the characters turned out as well. If I were to do this again however, I think I would incorporate more browns to make the trees stand out a bit more but only so much to differentiate them from the grass and foliage (however I was going for a mossy green tree look!). My main inspiration was taken from Charles Bartlett; he painted "Kilauea Crater" and he used watercolor and ink, which inspired me to do the same. Inspiration found in sofia_watercolor's work was the way the foliage was painted; almost blotchy but still having form.
